Hello everyone, I'm a junior software developer who's been exploring frontend development as well as technical writing outside of work (where I usually work on backend microservices). CodeNewbie community was where I published my first article on web development 🌱
I have attempted #CNC2021 Writing Challenge previously, but stopped midway because of mental health reasons. This year, I will try to complete a #CNC2022 challenge till the end 💪
At the start of this year 2022, to motivate myself to improve my craft in React, Typescript & hybrid app development, I've enrolled in a React Native learning cohort. I have been tweeting consistently about the things that I've tried and learnt through the side projects that I worked on for the assignments, and plan to continue doing so through this #LearnInPublic challenge.

Hello! I'm Sarah and I'm a fullstack web developer and producer. I've been coding for 6 years where I've dabbled with Ruby, Python, and PHP. I tend to focus mostly on JavaScript and JavaScript frameworks when I code. Right now I'm learning Ruby on Rails. I did the CNC2018 Get a Job challenge in January 2018
I decided to register for the Learn in Public challenge because one of my goals for 2022 is to launch my YouTube channel. I feel like the feedback, assignments, and resources are going to help me get ready for my channel launch.
I love quotes and there's so many great motivational ones out there. One of my favorites I like to use throughout my coding journey is "It's kind of fun to do the impossible." from Walt Disney. This quote always reminds me to take chances to put myself out there.

I am a self taught developer looking to land a front end developer role this year. I recently completed the 100 days of code challenge and want to continue the momentum. I’m hoping to go outside my comfort zone and put myself out there and learn from others.
I want to focus on CSS and responsive web design.

Hi Estee! When I was doing the Angela Yu web development bootcamp, I guess I looked past CSS and was more interested in JavaScript at the time. It took me awhile to understand how awesome CSS really is. I'm hoping to gain a solid understanding of CSS grid since I haven't used that before.
Are you going to be focusing on responsive design in this challenge as well?
yeah CSS is really awesome! Responsive design is not my primary focus for this challenge, but it's still something I'm keen to learn in :) I'll be learning more about React Native!

Thank you! That was a very tough challenge and I am hoping to do it again. Being self-taught has its challenge but I found a good group of people on Instagram that are very supportive. In fact, I found out about this through one of them that is also in this cohort. Really excited to continue the journey.
Are you working towards being a front end developer or full stack?
In the long run, I hope full stack. But it will be front end for now 😊

The 100 Days of Code challenge was exhausting but very rewarding at the same time. There were times throughout where I wanted to give up just because of my commitments at work and at home. The challenge helped provide the momentum I needed to really start learning. By the end of it, I had developed a nice routine for myself where coding was built into my day versus trying to fit it in.
Although I am an early bird, I found that I code best in the evenings just after dinner time. What are you looking to learn with this Learn in Public challenge?

I'm a Software Engineering Manager (and have been for 1,5y), but have been coding professionally for the past 8, mostly in C++. I decided to pick-up the learn in public challenge because I'm always talking about how I want to learn Rust (like 95% of all programmers), but never do, so hopefully this will force me into it.
I want to see if Rust is all that people have been talking about and maybe even find out whether it can be useful for some of the stuff I do.

My coding focus this time would be React. I've been on and off learning React properly because I got distracted with other things 😆
There is one quote that I found recently and really motivates me when I feel down.
I can relate about the consistency. That is something I need to work on this year. Staying consistent is tough so hopefully this challenge will have good tips to help me more consistent this year.

I have been teaching myself how to code on and off for a few years now, but ended up starting a grad program in analytics early last year. I'm Khloe Brown, a frontend developer and graphic designer with almost 7 years of experience (college and professional).
I decided to do CNC again after trying for the first time at CNC2021. I didn't complete the challenge but I learned a lot while having a great time with the community. I chose the "Learn in Public" challenge to "force" myself to engage and interact with the online coding community more. I have my accounts to post my insight and knowledge but was too scared to actually post anything. I'm hoping this challenge will get the ball rolling.
My favorite quote for life is "Keep Moving Forward" by Walt Disney. I've faced so much in life and expect more to come but it's important to always dust yourself off and keep going.

Hi - I'm Sonja. I'm a full stack developer after having graduated from Flatiron School in Nov. I took a month or so off and am now focusing on my job search.
I'm determined to become a blockchain developer so in this challenge I am going to learn Solidity and learn about other DLT languages, as well as the blockchain ecosystem so that I have a really solid understanding of the platforms, and all the various players in the space. Especially as it relates to financial services, where I worked for before diving into code. I'm excited that my first career could launch me into my second in a really impactful way!
One of my all time favorite quotes is by Merlin, from "The Once and Future King":

Hello all! I'm a WordPress and Shopify dev. I've been working with WordPress for about 5 years and Shopify for about 3. I had planned to use this to learn some liquid to improve my Shopify skills but I've decided to focus on Git/Github instead. I've never quite wrapped my head around it and its a neccesary skill.
My favorite motivational saying is "its not silly if it works" which sounds kind of ridiculous but definitely keeps me going.
