Hi jake, sorry for the late response - I haven't looked at this for a while. I'm finding the odin project amazing. It pushes you hard but you end up learning a lot from it and having a lot to show for your time and effort. I'd highly recommend trying it out.
Pleasure to meet you too Alex

Hello, my name is Andy. I discovered this site while watching a YouTube video from the Codeland Conference 2018 - the speaker mentioned it as a good resource. I'm not exactly a newbie - I have a BS in Computer Science and actually did a lot of coding in the early part of my career - but it's been a long time since I got pulled away from the fun stuff to do more management and administrative stuff. Now that I'm retired, I want to get back to coding. I guess the first thing to do is try to catch up with the changes in technology over the past 25+ years. I'm looking forward to finding kindred spirits.
Welcome! šš»

2: Because I've always been into learning this and honestly, have no idea why I kept putting it off?
Fear of time commitment maybe?
Anyways, I'm here to learn and share and not be a spambot 4000
Dan

Hi all, My name is Jake and I am trying to return to coding after a 15 year break. I am starting my journey going through the freecodecamp ciriculum, but my goal is to be a freelance developer. I am also using codepen.io to try out ideas and running my own rasberrypi dev environment with a LAMP stack(as that is what I know from 15 years ago). Also really interested in learning about the modern dev frameworks for web and app development.
I am looking forward to reading about all of your successes and struggels as it keeps me motivated. :)

Hello fellow newbies:) I ran into the podcast on Spotify, and have been listening to it for the past month or so. I have started learning basic Ruby, and am looking for people to bounce accomplishments, discuss questions, and share accountability with. I understand that Ruby is not one of the most popular languages anymore, but I chose it because there is a local group who has weekly meets in this language, and it seems it doesn't matter which language one learns, just that one must be chosen! I will go check out the forum (this is my first time here!) and see if there are any others learning Ruby!
Hi all, Brenda here. I've been studying Frond End Development with Skillcrush the past year and am now working to hone my skills while building projects and trying to implement all-the-things! Happy to join with others on the journey!

Hello everyone!
My name's Andre. I'm 44 and I'm new to this wonderful world of coding.
Although I've always been fascinated by this subject, I never really pursued it. Life always got in the way. But recently in 2021 I had the opportunity to complete a Bootcamp on full stack development. And it was one of the most intellectually satisfying experiences I've ever had.
Now I'm trying to get into the industry, only regretting that I did not choose to do it sooner.
I'd really like to know if there's anyone out there with a similar experience (trying to take the leap at forty plus).
Anyway, arrived here because I searched "Coding" on Spotify and discovered the Codenewbie podcast, and it was amazing! The stories I heard were really close to my own experience. Presently I just want to keep learning, keep coding, and be in a community in which I can help and be helped.
Thank you for having me.
Hi! I'm Vlad and I like to teach. Haven't done it in a while, so I thought I'd share what I've been learning.
Currently I'm writing a course on Go lang for absolute beginners. I hope to find people interested to learn.
Hi my name is David, CodeNewbie is a Twitter follow and I binge listen to the podcasts. I've completed both DataCamp's Tableau Foundation and Data Engineering with Python path. Near completion for both CodeCademy's Data Analysis with SQL path and Data Analysis with Python path. Completed the first 25% of the Full Stack Engineer path. Realized that I don't care for web dev. Probably should have enrolled in CodeCademy's Back End Dev path. Currently, on Udemy's 100 DOC with Python Day 5 and enjoying it. Getting my @$$ handed to me on HackerRank. Finding JS irritating and git cumbersome. Probably need some help with both. I persist.
Hello! My name is Jon, but I go by CS Jon. You guessed it! I am a computer science student, and I am in the process of become a full-stack developer. I am doing everything on my own, through trial and error I am working to build new projects daily. I try to find time everyday even with my 9-5 normal job to look at code. If anyone had discord feel free to reach out to me csjon#0001 or hit me up on Twitter @csjondev
Hi everyone! Delighted to join the community and I hope I can help people out!
A bit about me:
I discovered my passion for teaching and building open-source technology during my Computer Science undergraduate degree at UofT's Mississauga campus. There, I served as a Teaching Assistant and coordinator of a department initiative called the Hacklab which helped students bring their tech ideas to life.
In the industry, I have worked as a software engineer at Google and Vida. I loved working with teams to bring a common vision to the people. I was grateful for the opportunities for growth in design and product research & development that were made available to me there.
When I had the chance to return to the industry or academia, I chose instead to pursue my passion for making open software products with students worldwide and sharing what we learn along the way!
I formalized this passion by founding Grey Software, a not-for-profit startup based in Canada, and my most meaningful enterprise yet!
