Should I try to learn machine learning if I'm a newbie?

Any opinions on whether or not machine learning would be biting off more than I can chew as a total beginner in the world of programming?

I wouldn’t say it’s biting off more than you can chew, but more of a goal to work towards. If you’re interested in machine learning and are a total beginner to programming, I would consider starting off by learning Python. It’s a beginner friendly language and probably the most popular for artificial intelligence and machine learning.

It’s where I’m starting too. We can be Python buddies!

Agreed anyone can learn it however make sure that you understand the fundamentals and concepts of programming first. Before you dive into the deep end.

Hey Eve,
Good question. I think the short answer is LEARN whatever you want and like.

For me, I think the next question was 'what do you want to do with it'.

  • If you want to 'see what you can see' then cool, go for it.
  • If you want to get into data science then M.L. could be the start of a new journey.

I am trying to get into DS now and it is a process that (personally) I wish I had some other things under my belt. What you may ask?

I am considering writing an article but I would also be happy to 'chat' too. (BTW, if two people follow each other here then they can chat.)
