Need Career Advice: How Can I Become a Web Developer?

Hi Everyone,

I am seeking advice to get into a career as a Web Developer. I recently graduated with a degree in arts and want to pursue a tech career, specifically in Web Development.

Here’s my situation:

I don’t have a tech-related degree, but I’m eager to learn and put in the effort.
My coding experience is minimal, and my math skills aren’t strong.
I can dedicate 6-7 hours a day to learning through various online resources.

My main concerns are:

  1. Have I chosen the right career for me?
  2. What are the most crucial skills and technologies I should focus on to become a good Web Developer?
  3. Are there comprehensive roadmaps you would recommend for someone starting in this field?
  4. How can I maximize my employability without a formal tech-related degree?

I want your honest feedback on my decision. Please share your thoughts, as this will help me reconsider the possibility of pursuing web development.

I am currently reading a couple of Web Development roadmaps to understand how to become a web developer.

If you have any recommendations for roadmaps, please do share.

Thanks for your help!

In my quest to better understand the path to becoming a web developer, I found some resources that might be incredibly helpful:

  1. Web Development Roadmap: A comprehensive guide to help you navigate the journey of becoming a web developer.
  2. Backend Development Guide: A detailed PDF covering the essentials of backend development.
  3. Frontend Development Guide: This PDF provides valuable insights into frontend development.
  4. 15 Essential Web Developer Skills: A great article outlining the key skills every web developer should have.
  5. Web Developer Career Path: A helpful resource to map out your career trajectory as a web developer.

I'm eager to dive into these resources and see how they can shape my learning journey. Have you explored any of these before? If so, I’d love to hear your thoughts. Or, if you have any other recommendations, please share them—I’m always on the lookout for more guidance.

Thanks for your input!
