Heyo! Thanks for pointing this issue out. 🙂

The new syntax for embedding content is simplified to just include the keyword embed instead of specifying the embed type. So, embedding the comment you mentioned would be written as {% embed https://community.codenewbie.org/yuridevat/comment/a9d %}

That said, I tested this out on CodeNewbie just now and hit an error. I think we may be having a few issues with embedding content on CodeNewbie right now and so have tagged in a teammate to look at things. I'll get back in touch when we figure out what's happening here!

Thank you so much for your answer, Michael. To use "embed" was what I thought first, but it did not work. Then I found out, people are using "link", "comment", etc and it worked with using "link" for an article of mine, but not with "comment".
I am glad you helped clarify how to (normally) use it :)

You're very welcome! 🙌

And yep, this is a bit confusing. We actually recently changed out syntax for embeds, simplifying things so that folks can just use "embed" without having to remember what type of embed it is (i.e. "link", "comment", etc.) That said, I believe it was built in such a way that the older methods still work.

I'm getting the same error when trying to use the new embed tag for CodeNewbie content (and when posting on forem.dev also)

If you mean by content a blog article, instead of embed you should use link. This one was working for me. But not for comments, though :-/

I'm getting the error for everything that uses a CodeNewbie URL, even on other Forem instances.

Ensure that the platform you're using supports the fnf embedding feature and that you have the correct permissions to embed content.
