I have a creative streak, and enjoy making things that people will use. I've been making websites for fun since high school and geocities, and decided when it was time to go back to work after staying home with my kids that I'd rather go into tech than back to social work. So I jumped into a bootcamp, and now I'm starting my job hunt :)
What's your content experience, have you used a CMS? π¬
I have used things like WordPress for personal projects in the past. I have also built a full Rails app (front end as well as backend), and I have built a Rails API backend to manage content for a object-oriented JS frontend.
Have you ever heard of Headless CMS? Strapi? Jamstack tools? π€
I have heard of Jamstack previously (actually heard about it in a CodeNewbie podcast). I found Strapi this morning as I was scrolling through job listings. And I did not know before today what a headless CMS is, but turns out I did know; I just didn't know what it was called. π
I am just getting started with my job hunt while I finish up a coding bootcamp. Getting my resume together, seeing what's out there :) Looking forward to putting my experience as a social worker and my coding knowledge together towards creating accessible tools everyone can use!
The kids are great:) They like being QA testers for my projects -- if my 7 year old can break it, it's back to the drawing board, lol.
Why did you become a developer? π‘

Hello Jessie :-)
It's never too late to learn about Headless CMS. It was a new concept for me as well 4 months ago.
How is your job hunt doing?
I bet your kids are excited for your career transition!
