Same! I dabbled with many of the free sites, apps, etc. for a couple of months. I ultimately decided to enroll in a boot camp (my 40th birthday present to myself). I’m on week 10, roughly 12 weeks left. It’s intense and I still use free code camp on weekends.

Committing to code is a big barrier.
It's really motivating to see you crossed it.
I have completed a Bootcamp and let me tell you a little about it

  • It takes a lot of time than what it shows (stick to the course)
  • There will be topics that you will end up not liking/enjoying (for me it was CSS), So before starting the next module search a bit about it.
  • It's hectic no doubt but its worth it
