Happy Summer! 🌈 ☀️

Hi again!... excellent work this week: you have discovered the powerful
normalize.css
(in some places, I've read it asreset.css
)Nice to see your first fully responsive web and how you manage the "white edges" in your second exercise. You did your first steps, and creating your first entire responsive web is the prize after hours of understanding, thinking, developing, and reverting changes.
About your routine, I feel amazed by your destress activities: I use the Pomodoro technique to leave the computer and do other things in my day (in my case 45 min, 15 min).
I want to see your next steps :)
Thank you so much for your supportive words!
I love the Pomodo technique! I was going to go over that in a few weeks when I go over my "study strategies" for learning code, so spoilers!! xD I love 25 5 25 5, but I'm intrigued to try 45, 15 bc that sounds like an excellent ratio when I'm coding!
I tested the "default technique" (25/15/5) but felt incomplete when I developed some code or analyzed problems to solve. Therefore, 45/15 was the best setup for my case, and I can divide an hour into two main parts: develop and non-develop time.
I love the traditional hour division for writing, but I've been finding that 25 minutes is too little time for me to work out meaningful solutions or accomplish a a section. I take the break anyway for my eyes and back, but I do find that I always wish I had longer time per session. I also think consolidating into a longer break may allow me more brain space to "simmer on" challenges, so I'm excited to try it {: Thank you for sharing!
Tauri, I loved reading this!! I must also add I melted a little when I saw you are reading The Wise Man's Fear AND playing Hollow Knight. Two of my favorite ever sources of pleasure. And D&D?!?!?! I live.
But you've certainly inspired me to jump into my Skillcrush courses and keep better tabs on what I'm learning. Then I'll hopefully I'll understand some of this!
Yessah!! You have good taste {; And we have a lot in common!
One of the main things I've been getting out of blogging every day, even tho it can be tiring at the end of a long day, is it really has been helpful to further absorb what I've done in the day so I'd highly recommend it! Plus bonus of having lots of material for my portfolio later of course {:
Please feel free to hit let up if you'd ever like to chat!
Hollow Knight is truly the perfect blend of cute and spooky <3 My fave NPC is Cornifer the cartographer. Good luck with your skillcrush classes!!
Hi hi! YAY for finishing your Unplugged project! It's a lot of new knowledge and I remember it being overwhelming when I did it.
I am in a D&D campaign with a few friends and my partner is DM. It is my first campaign and it is very fun! I know my partner is really into creating their own campaigns, too! What is yours about??
**p.s. you have inspired me to start blogging. I have been working on a project and it has taken me awhile to also write it all out, but I will post it soon! Thank you for the motivation!
That's so cool that you're playing your first campaign! It's so involved to make campaigns from scratch! I do like to DM tho so I usually find inspiration from the official campaigns and homebrews. {: Right now I'm loving 2minutetabletop and digging into their Grey Banner series for inspiration to do a little story just between my partner and I to switch it up with the video games {:
What kind of setting are y'all playing in??
Yea, I know my partner is still working on creating their first one - they have been busy LOL. I'm gonna mention those resources to them in case they haven't heard of them! Right now the location is Waterdeep; I'm not sure of the details. We are a bit of a spacey crew, so we do get distracted and it has been kinda slow progress but still fun and my partner has been patient.
And yay I'm so glad that you're going to start blogging!! I can't wait to see it! I was just recommended these articles by the TLDR newsletter I receive about news in tech, so on point!: Publishing Your Work Increases Your Luck and I Posted My Project on Reddit and Received 9 Job Offers
Thank you for the links! The post about publishing your work is great. The ReadME Project seems like a good resource. Thank youu <3
