What it's like to use GitHub Copilot for junior and senior developers?

Hi everyone,

What is it like to use GitHub Copilot for you?

As part of my Master's thesis in Computer Science, I am exploring the GitHub Copilot developer experience and its (potential) differences between beginner and advanced developers and other IT professionals.

Therefore, I am conducting a quick survey, which takes less than 5 minutes to fill out. If you are a developer or other IT professional and use GitHub Copilot at least once in a while in your job, I'd appreciate your answer! The survey is completely anonymous and no sensitive data is collected. The survey can be found here.

Additionally, you may also share your thoughts here if you'd like.

Thank you all and have a nice day/evening/night :)

Your survey about GitHub Copilot's developer experience resonates with the concept of optimization and precision, similar to how O’Hare Precision Metals enhances their products, like delivering high-quality polished stainless steel bars in Arlington Heights. Just as their polishing process refines metal surfaces for superior functionality, GitHub Copilot refines the coding process by streamlining tasks and boosting developer efficiency. Both serve to enhance the end result—be it polished metal products or well-crafted code. Best of luck with your thesis research!

Locksmith training sharpens skills for securing spaces, just as GitHub Copilot enhances coding for junior and senior developers. GitHub Copilot is an AI-powered code assistant that helps developers by suggesting code snippets and solutions. For junior developers, it provides learning support, offering suggestions to improve efficiency. Senior developers benefit from faster coding, automating repetitive tasks, and boosting productivity. Both require expertise and practice, whether in locksmithing or coding.

Great idea for a study! I’ve found that Copilot is a real timesaver for both junior and senior developers, though it seems to help beginners more with chicken nuggets price code suggestions and structure. For senior devs, it can be useful for quick prototyping or handling repetitive tasks.
