Hey Everybody! I am currently updating my linkedin profile (which I haven't done in years) and I'm looking for advice on what I should put in my about section.
I'm updating my profile because I'm trying to get my very first job as a web developer! I guess I'm wondering if that's something I should include or if I should keep that out and just list the technologies that I'm familiar with.
I think normally I would put my experience in the about section but so far I don't have any except for all the learning I have done up to this point.
Any tips on what else I could put in there or what are typical things that people include? Also, could I link my github and/or portfolio in my about section or is there a different area in linkedin for that, or is that just not something people do?
Thanks!

Good question. Remember that you have to prove to the recruiters you are a good fit for whatever role available in their company, so efforts toward your LinkedIn profile should be focused on that. Add certifications or volunteer works in academics if you have available. And more importantly, showcase your projects, either in Github or from your personal website/portfolio, to that of your profile to fully provide this fact you are experienced and knows what you are doing.
If you wish to you can connect to me in LinkedIn.
Good luck.
