Hey! I am studying Computer Science in college. I want to be a fullstack developer but I'm still exploring various fields where I can give my best to the community.
As soon as I heard the word Jamstack I jumped to the jamstack website to learn more about it. Thanks for your reply.

It's my second open source event and I do love the fact that how interactive the community is to help the beginners.

--> Because I love making beautiful websites and all the new libraries and frameworks keep me occupied everyday.

What's your content experience, have you used a CMS?
--> I know a little bit of Wordpress but I hate everything about it, it just looks outdated and boring to me.

Have you ever heard of Headless CMS? Strapi?

Also what library is your favorite at the moment?

haha I have lots of respect for .NET, built a few services with it. What about the CMSs you dislike would you like to see in other CMSs? Also Headless is pretty cool, I'm pretty sure there's a funky .NET CMS out there lol

I've always been a maker, I have degrees in Fine Arts, and as I explored more digital mediums I was introduced to web development. I wound up really enjoying it and slowly make the shift to working in Software development.

What's your content experience, have you used a CMS? πŸ’¬
I have worked with a couple CMSs, I used Strapi to build out a quick prototype, but I's probably need to go through the docs to set something up again.

Have you ever heard of Headless CMS? Strapi? Jamstack tools?
I have heard of Strapi and as I mentioned before I got to play with it, but I am no expert and enjoy exploring new concepts.

When I was getting my MFA, I tough a project about collection and while it was rudimentary, the course required the students to present their collection in a web format using iweb, which is what initially got me interested in building web sits, but then I want the sites I was building to do more which led me to learning javascript bit by bit and taking classes to understand a bit more. Hanging out with local meetups, but in my mind there isn't much difference between software development and creating art, because in the end you are still making something that you enjoy.
We've been using NextJS in my current projects, but I'll have to take a look at Strapi again, soon.

Why did you become a developer?

I never thought of becoming a developer from my early age. But, circumstances made to go into Computer Science Engineering just on random. I am so greatful that I went into this line and now I am just in love with what I do.

What's your content experience, have you used a CMS?

I have not used it in any of my projects till now but I have been watching lots of talk about CMS recently.

Have you ever heard of Headless CMS? Strapi? Jamstack tools?

Yes. I have heard about all of it since I am into Open source and it's everywhere. So, it is hard to missed it.

Why did you become a developer? πŸ’‘

I always had a thing for small gadgets and electronics and how they worked in a system. When I decided to switch from Engineering to Digital Media, I realized Software Engineering combined a good amount of solving problems and then showing that work to people who could play with and find their own usage for your solution

What's your content experience, have you used a CMS? πŸ’¬

I have experience using Drupal CMS and decoupling an API for mobile app consumption from my summer internship. I have always enjoyed writing Express Routes and the reusability of user auth modules. Strapi seems really interesting as a way to Decouple an app.

Have you ever heard of Headless CMS? Strapi? Jamstack tools? πŸ€”

Yes, yes, and yes! I really enjoy the concept of writing a blazing fast API in seconds, that can be consumed by several clients.

Collapse

Daniel Madalitso Phiri

Heyy lovely to hear Kevin!!

Strapi is a lovely way to decouple an app, it doesn't use Express though but we have a very interesting way of authenticating users. Here's an idea of how that works

Got any projects you wanna show off?

Why did you become a devloper?
Here's a question. Why do we study? Some will say "to make sure that we have some kind of survival tool" and some will say for the love of the subject they like the most. For me, the second view holds true. I was initially into competitive coding but my mind changed and I got into development when I realized that I was just coding and competing with others while creating no value from my skill for the community.

What's your content experience, have you used a CMS?
I have some experience using Wordpress as I am currently using it to build my website.

Have you ever heard of Headless CMS? Strapi? Jamstack tools?
This event is where I heard about headless CMS for the first time and I am sure that it is going to be amzing to learn and use it.

Why did you become a developer? πŸ’‘
It feels like I'm still working on it, to be honest! I got interested in software development because I had an idea for a business and didn't want to rely on others to build it.

What's your content experience, have you used a CMS? πŸ’¬
I have some experience working on WordPress, but I have mostly moved over to Gatsby for personal work. I am starting to look into doing more CMS work though because I am toying with the idea of starting an agency.

Have you ever heard of Headless CMS? Strapi? Jamstack tools? πŸ€”
I have heard of headless CMS before, but I have never personally been in a position of putting out enough content to think it really matters to me. It does sound way more exciting from the dev perspective though so I am curious to learn more!
