Enterprise development sounds interesting and I think "web apps" is a great area of focus, since they can be consumed in multiple mediums (desktop, mobile, etc.).
Wishing you the best on your adventures; you got this!

I purchased a CSS and HTML book back in 2009 because I wanted to learn to code. I just now opened that book up the other day after startign this course. I know that I am in a better place to learn code now but I wish I hadn't waited 13 years to learn about the beautiful simplicity of HTML.

I've also decided to go for JS in the short term. It seems easy enough and it's an attainable goal. :)

Same here! I'm having a lot harder time grasping JavaScript so I think I need to really focus on building a foundation here before branching to other languages.

  1. What language or framework have you decided to learn? The language that I have decided to learn is JavaScript. 2) Why did you pick it? The reason I picked JavaScript is because it is easy to learn. It will also help me to branch out and learn React, TypeScript, etc. It will also help me to create more dynamic websites. Lastly, it will help me to become a really good web developer some day! :)

  1. I have decided to focus on JavaScript and React - specifically the MERN Stack.
  2. I already have a bit of a foundation with JavaScript and React including a basic knowledge of MongoDB, Express and Node.JS. I hope to leverage the knowledge I already have and develop those skills with a focus here and then expand out.

  1. What language or framework have you decided to learn?

I am going to work on a project using Ruby

Which platform/field would you like to work in?
I want to work in [web/mobile/enterprise/game] development I am really looking forward to enterprise development,
I like the idea of being able to code my own simple HTML projects but I don't think webdev is where I am wanting to-go
in the long run. For this project I am leaning towards Ruby
.

Do you know CSS and/or HTML?
If not, that’s totally fine! If you don’t know CSS or HTML, these are good starting points.

__I do not know CSS and HTML yet! I have however started on my first HTML web page__.

Do you like to be more self-sufficient when learning things or completing projects? Or do you like to work in groups?
Jot down your thoughts on your learning style here. Certain frameworks/languages have active communities with lots of resources while others require a bit more independence.

_I would much rather learn in a group setting than figure it out on my own. The benefit of having someone else to work with is the collaboration that you get when learning or working with someone else_.

I chose JavaScript with the React framework to make a career change to web development. Since I have already done some preliminary study with these, I decided to continue using it for this challenge.

1. Which platform/field would you like to work in?
I want to work in web develompment. Maybe game development on the side.

2. What do you want to build first?
I want to start building simple websites.

3. My priority with learning to code is...
Having a practical skill while having fun with the possibilities it may enable.

4. Do you know CSS and/or HTML?
Not yet. I’ve been tapping into CSS and HTML while going over an introduction to JS.

5. Do you like to be more self-sufficient when learning things or completing projects? Or do you like to work in groups?
I try to be self-sufficient, although I believe in order to properly learn to code, I may need to complete projects and take guidance from people who have been there and done it. I like to work alone but coding is out of my comfort zone, so I see myself relying on groups of programmers who have put together vast amounts of resources for us newbies to rely on.

So I've decided to learn JS, for starters, because it seems pretty easy to learn.
