CodeNewbie Writers of the Month — October 2021

The CodeNewbie Writers of the Month Awards is a monthly "awards ceremony" here on CodeNewbie Community where we showcase three standout writers from the month before. These three folks authored posts that our judges deemed particularly helpful to the community last month. We announce the award-winners during the first week of each month. Thanks to all of you for your fantastic contributions to this space! ❤️

In no particular order, here are the winners of the CodeNewbie Writers of the Month Awards for October 2021...

Jeremy Schuurmans (@jeremy) — "Read This Before Signing Up For a Bootcamp"

It's easy to sign up for a bootcamp, but completing one in a way that's the most helpful for your journey takes some nuanced preparation. Thank you, Jeremy for this insightful guide to priming yourself for maximum bootcamp success!

Tanaka Mutakwa (@tanakamutakwa) — "Feedback is a Gift"

The who, what, when, where, and how of feedback as a software developer — from someone who knows a thing or two about mentorship! Thanks for your sound advice, Mutakwa!

MishManners (@mishmanners) — "How to get started and find opt-in projects for Hacktoberfest 🎃 don't be scared!"

Throughout the month of October, participants of Hacktoberfest were encouraged to submit pull requests in eligible code bases in exchange for education, global camaraderie, and prizes! This roadmap to finding those eligible codebases was super handy and worth a look for next year.

Congrats to our CodeNewbie Writers of the Month! Keep up the great work and you might just be on next month's list of top authors!
