Lucidchart makes your ideas vivid

This series is a project inspired by @dickiebush’s "Ship 30 for 30” Atomic Essays. Which, I commit to spend 30 minutes a day for 30 days straight to write a short essay about software development tools that I love. Sometimes it’s hard to explain my ideas verbally. That’s why I always appreciate any tools that can visualize my ideas and makes them easy to share with others.

I knew about Lucidchart when I studied Database Management and had to build a relational database, which basically is a bunch of tables that contain pieces of data and relate to other tables. Lucidchart was the free software that my instructor introduced to us.

Therefore, I experimented more by using it to build a wireframe for my group project of creating a webpage. It may look a little cluttered, but it served us well and my team members really liked it. Here’s what it looks like:

What exactly does Lucidchart do? (Refer from https://lucid.co/)

  • Customer insight – You can build stuff like customer journey and user persona.
  • Ideation – Visualize your ideas by wireframing, UX and UI layout, mind mapping, decision tree, storyboard, etc. Organization and evaluation – Rich options for team environment such as flowchart, stakeholder map, etc.
  • Strategic analysis – Lets you make SWOT analysis, business canvas, etc.
  • Agile and project planning – Some tools for project management like Gantt chart, Kanban board, timeline, etc. There are so many more features and templates for both personal use and team organization. It is easy to use, powerful, and well integrated, making the workflow much more effortless.
